Evangelationships

Relationships. Yeah, I don't know where the line is. I just like some people and don't like others that much. I could really change by viewing our relationship through scripture and genuine love for the Kingdom that is coming out around me or I can fake it. I think the latter are dead men walking.
Some people I deeply want to see called to know Christ and love them in the midst of their calling whether they be in rank rebellion or actively needing a Saviour. Something seems askew when a person has no interest in a relationship once they realize that the other person isn't interested in God.
If you are loving people. It should be "contra-conditional" in spite of the conditions. I know these lines are blurry. Don't mistake the above statements as authoritative. I pray tomorrow I will laugh at my lack of understanding. That's a good thing right.

Hey, go here and listen to one of the best writers and singers I've ever come across. An amazing talent. You will kick yourself if you don't. Especially the second track. His name is Matthew Perryman Jones.

I'm going to be honest

This morning started like most. I woke up and then I checked my clock. Well, it was normal except for the fact that it said
10:00. Ok, thats a problem. I was waiting for the "Oh, it's Saturday" realization but it never came. That's right folks step right up and see the grown up that didn't set his alarm and was and hour late for work. Luckily there are some folks in the design community at the ABH that set the bar a little lower than an hour late but I still had the "Uh, Oh" feeling as I walked in to my desk briskly but calm like I had already been there and was just headed back to my desk from going to get something across the room. I did take time to brush my teeth but the rest of my appearance was "real artsy" today to say the least. I considered just sleeping at my desk tonight but figured that late isn't as bad as being "that creepy guy that sleeps at his desk."

Dip Cones, eat'em cold eat'em fast

Recently I returned to Athens from Greensboro, NC. On the way back my sister and I stopped at "The DQ" "you know doing the cones(Waiting for Guffman)". Well we got dip cones. You see I remember them from being a little kid that the chocolate would crack and then I'd have ice from my chin to my shoes. Evidently my coordination and educated-matured mind still can't figure these things out. Lets just say it was one of the funnier ice experiences I've had.

Any way you want it...

I realize that the coffee shop has become the place where people who have no choices, no options in their regular lives, exercise this supressed luxury. The American way, anyway you want it. This was OK until it has begun to disrupt my regular life. Today while trying to stop "quickly" for a cup of coffee I was thrawted by

" yes... I want a caramel cocoa jamaican farmers blend half-caf mochiatto latte skinny with the half the foam and half the whipped cream on the side. Oh, and what ever those two want"

I'm sorry I just want a regular cup of FREAKIN' coffee. I'm petitioning a "regular" coffee line in every coffee shop. Write your congress representative.

Emergence of Emo talent

Ok...I have never really cared for the "Emo" sound even the acoustic Dashboard Confessional stuff. My roommate from college Dan was/is a huge punk/emo fan. I never really got there until THE FORMAT. This duo proved to me that there is some real talent and musicianship in this genre. Kick A melodies, harmonies, writing and song structure. There most recent album "Lullabies and Interventions" is great. Check out "Career Day" (I'm a sucker for a background banjo in the chorus) and "On Your Porch". The whole album is great. You can find them on iTunes.
